Dolphin Love

We are on our trip to the Bahamas for Azaria's dolphin assisted therapy. We have been here since Wednesday, 6/21/07 and yesterday Azaria had her first session with two dolphins, it was awesome!!! She had another session today and will have one more tomorrow and then one on Sunday. The sessions with the dolphins are so amazing, TJ went in the water with Azaria yesterday and I went in today. The water is a little cold for Azaria so we bought her a wet suit (which makes her look like a superhero!). A little about what we are doing...we gather every morning for a Craniosacral session, Azaria has two or three therapists working on her each day. Then we go over to UNEXSO and take a ferry to a where the dolphins are. There is a small platform that we stand on and then the dolphins come in. The dolphins are free to do what they want, and it is so awesome when they come up to Azaria and put their nose on her head, or swim under her, or rub up against her. Usually there is always one dolphin with Azaria the entire time. After we leave the dolphins (and they wave goodbye) we head out for lunch on the beach or in town and then go back for another Craniosacral session. We end our day at 5pm, then we are free to do what we want. Usually we are very tired but we've been trying to get to the beaches and pools. The pools here are so beautiful, the beaches are endless, and the Bahamians are all so friendly (ya mon!). It is hotter than we thought it would be, it's been about 87 with very high humidity, we are also fighting off mosquitos but they seem to be winning, we are all bitten! Azaria is loving it here, she seems very relaxed and calm, only one seizure since we've been here!!!! At home, before we left, she was having a lot of daily seizures and requiring her emergency medication so much that I wasn't sure if we would even make this trip. We are so happy she is feeling good, you can just see it in her face, she's happy here! I'll update on our trip as much as I can while we are here (kind of hard to be on the computer with such beautiful surroundings!). TJ has taken some awesome pictures, and has uploaded them to his Flickr account. You can see them here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tjbaker/sets/72157600439387010/

We would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU, once again, to all of the wonderful people who helped us to achieve this dream for Azaria – without your wonderful gifts, we would not have been able to do this.

Thank You!!!
